    Leading mainland production company Enlight Media plans to list on China’s Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) next year, CEO Wang Changtian told National Business Daily. He said Enlight will not include its new subsidiary Enlight Pictures in the listing.

  • Taobao and Wasu Partner Up to Launch Online TV Shopping

    Leading online shopping site Taobao announced it had formed a strategic partnership with Hangzhou cable TV operator Wasu on December 2, according to a report on Sina. Under the terms of the agreement, Wasu viewers will be able to purchase goods from Taobao via the channel. The channel will also cooperate with Koubei.com, a Taobao subsidiary site featuring lifestyle content such as listings, reviews and content.

  • CNR Media Development Secures Construction Bank Loan

    China Radio National subsidiary CNR Media Development Corporation received an RMB3 billion (US$439.24 million) loan from China's Construction Bank on November 26. CNR Media Development operates the station's official website and acts as its advertising agent. The company also produces programs for the station and its mobile TV service. A CNR media spokesperson said the company plans to use the load to integrate its business operations.

  • SARFT Creates Healthy Broadcast Environment for Teenagers

    The State Administration of Radio, Film and TV (SARFT) will continue to "crack down" on "unhealthy" content on mainland channels that target Chinese youth, according to Vice Minister Hu Zhanfan. He said China has 34 TV channels and 11 radio channels that target children and youth. The broadcast industry regulator will instruct all of these channels to cut their adult content and broadcast "healthier" content for children.
