In an interesting follow-on to a story China Media News ran a few months ago, it would seem China's top five film distribution companies ended up taking in 58% of China's domestic box office film receipts for 2014. A report we ran mid year had that figure at a whopping 70% for the first half of the year showing that the latter half of the year saw at least a few pictures not distribted by the five making some box office revenue.
The companies, Huayi Brothers, Enlight Media, Le Vision Pictures, Wanda Media and Bona Film Group dominate the private production/distribution space in China. Enlight Media ranked on the top in this list, with 19% market share followed by Bona with 15%, and in third is Le Vision Pictures with 3% growth from last year, end up at 11%.
