Following a police raid on its offices last month, Shenzhen based Kuaibo Media, which owns the popular QVOD video app saw its online video license revoked for “spreading lewd and pornographic content.” Several staff at Kuaibo are also under criminal detention.
On May 20, Shenzhen legal enforcement department then fined the company with RMB260 (US$41.7) million for piracy, the highest sum to date.
