About

The Festival of German Cinema 2014 displays contemporary German movies to the general Chinese public. Renowned filmmakers and actors from Germany will travel to China to personally introduce their films. Workshops and panels that accompany the Festival provide opportunities for both young and experienced filmmakers from Germany and China to exchange knowledge and initiate mutual projects. The Festival is co-organized by German Films and Goethe Institute China.

Objective

The Festival of German Cinema aims to increase the popularity of German cinema among Chinese film professionals and the general public. Its primary objectives are to arouse interest for Germany as a production site for films, strengthen networks between German and Chinese filmmakers and media industries, and bring long-term advertising effect for Germany as an attractive country with a strong cultural offering.

History

The first ever Festival of German Cinema in China was successfully held in October 2013 in Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Shenyang.
